Pixel art game fans, still thy heart: Cassette Beasts is coming to you from a team who’ve worked on Starbound, Wargroove, and Stardew Valley. Pokémon and Digimon fans, still thy heart as well, because Cassette Beasts is all about catching, training, collecting and fusing monsters together to create unique, powerful creatures to battle alongside you.
Now, the open-world game has been confirmed for Switch, thanks to a partnership with publisher Raw Fury.
“Getting to work with the incredible talent at Bytten Studio is a real joy,” said Raw Fury CEO Jonas Antonsson. “Cassette Beasts is a perfect title for Raw Fury, and we can’t wait to bring its humour, monsters, friendship and unique world to players everywhere.”
Bytten Studio, which is a two-person team consisting of ex-Chucklefish artist and writer, Jay Baylis, and programmer and designer Tom Coxon, said the partnership felt like “a collaboration”, saying that the game “really wouldn’t have been able to grow into what it is now without Raw Fury backing us.”
The game has no confirmed release window yet, other than “Coming Soon” on its Steam page. Watch this space for more info to come!
